PCB Fabrication & Manufacturing
Flex and rigid-flex printed circuit boards (PCBs) are used in many industries and applications, including medical devices, industrial equipment, lighting systems, automotive electronics, aerospace and defense systems, consumer products, and downhole drilling equipment.
Topline Circuit provides flex and rigid-flex PCB layout, fabrication, and assembly support. Close communication between our engineering, fabrication, and assembly teams helps identify potential design and manufacturing issues before assembly begins. This coordinated approach reduces delays, avoids unnecessary rework, and helps customers control project time and cost.
Flex and Rigid-Flex PCB Assembly Capabilities
| Surface Mount Technology (SMT) | Mounts components directly onto the PCB surface. It supports compact layouts, high component density, and automated assembly. |
| Through-Hole Assembly | Inserts component leads into plated holes before soldering. It provides strong mechanical connections and can be combined with SMT. |
| Flip-Chip Assembly | Mounts an inverted semiconductor die directly onto the substrate. It supports short connections and high-density designs. |
| In-Circuit Testing (ICT) | Uses a dedicated test fixture to check component values, electrical connections, and assembly faults. |
| Flying Probe Testing | Checks continuity, open circuits, and short circuits without a custom fixture. It is suitable for prototypes and smaller production runs. |
| X-Ray Inspection | Examines hidden solder joints beneath BGAs, QFNs, and other component packages. |
| Press-Fit Assembly | Connects compatible component pins to plated through-holes without soldering. |
| Mechanical and Box-Build Assembly | Combines assembled PCBs with wiring, connectors, enclosures, and other mechanical parts. |
| Conformal Coating | Protects assembled circuit boards from moisture, dust, chemicals, and other environmental conditions. |
| Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) | Checks component presence, position, polarity, orientation, soldering defects, and component alignment. |
| Selective Soldering | Uses programmable equipment to control flux application, preheating, and soldering for through-hole components. |
| BGA Reballing | Replaces the solder balls on reusable BGA components before reassembly. |
Component Procurement
Topline Circuit offers full turnkey component procurement for PCB assembly projects. Our team sources the required electronic components and PCB materials based on your BOM, helping simplify supplier coordination and keep fabrication, procurement, and assembly aligned.
We also provide partial turnkey and consigned assembly services. You can supply selected components or all required materials, while our team handles the remaining procurement and assembly work.
Topline Circuit’s Flex and Rigid-Flex Assembly Capabilities
Topline Circuit supports complex flex and rigid-flex PCB projects from layout and fabrication through component procurement and assembly. Keeping these services under one roof improves communication between engineering, production, and assembly teams.
Our assembly team follows controlled handling and soldering processes for flexible circuits. This helps reduce stress on flex areas and lowers the risk of damage or delamination during assembly.
